COVID Safety Procedures

Reminders:

  • If you prefer an in-person appointment, you must abide by the Oredigger Promise and all Covid-19 procedures must be strictly adhered to.
  • Only one in-person appointment at a time is allowed in the Writing Center
  • Do not arrive early for your appointment. Our waiting area is currently closed until further notice.

In-person Appointment Procedures:

  • Upon entering Alderson 133, immediately sanitize your hands at the appointment prep station. Make sure you are wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Failure to abide by these rules will result in a cancellation of your in-person appointment.
  • Follow the floor arrows to the designated student desk. Your belongings should be kept near you at all times. The student and consultant desks are 6-feet apart.
  • Your appointment will start 5 minutes later and end 5 minutes earlier than your designated start/end time on the scheduler This will allow the consultant enough time to sanitize the tutoring area and allow social distancing between back-to-back clients.
  • You can choose to review your paper via computer, screen projection, or individual printed copies. Please consider attaching your document to your appointment on the online scheduler.
  • We can only host one-on-one in-person appointments. Students working on collaborative projects and papers who would like to meet with their group members must make an online appointment.

About Our Policies

The Writing Center provides one-on-one, individual consulting on writing of all levels. Due to the nature of this work, we are following all safety precautions recommended by the CDPHE and Colorado School of Mines. This includes social distancing of at least six feet, wearing masks, and cleaning thoroughly between each session. Please be patient with us as we navigate these changes.

We are still here to help our students in any way we can. Please follow the guidelines for your safety and for the safety of those around you. We’re in this together.
